bridal shower

Background:

Brenda, a Mexican-born bride residing in Canada, wanted to infuse a touch of her rich cultural heritage into her bridal shower. As she prepared for her special day, Brenda sought a meaningful way to share a piece of her background with her guests. Growing up in Mexico, Brenda cherished the traditional craftsmanship of her homeland, particularly the handwoven bags produced by artisans in Oaxaca.

Objective:

Brenda’s goal was to offer her bridal shower guests a unique and personal gift that celebrated her Mexican heritage. She aimed to select a meaningful item that would not only serve as a token of appreciation but also reflect the cultural traditions she holds dear.

Strategy and Execution

We collaborate with an artisan group from Oaxaca renowned for their exquisite handwoven bags. This choice aligned perfectly with Brenda’s desire to provide a memorable and culturally significant gift. The strategy involved several key steps:

  1. Research and Selection: We worked to researched various artisan groups and handwoven techniques. Brenda liked the handwoven bags made our of dried palm leaves.

  2. Customization: We worked with the artisans to customize the bags, she wanted to keep the traditional Oaxacan design but make the bags a bit smaller so it would be easy for people to pack them when they traveled back home. She selected two different style bags to give her guest some variety to choose from.

  3. Execution: We coordinated with her to have the bags shipped and delivered with plenty of time for the bridal shower. Each seat got a bag and she filled the bags with some flowers and other gifts.

The guests absolutely loved the handwoven bags. Everyone appreciated the unique blend of cultural heritage and personal touch that the bags represented. The gifts not only delighted the attendees but also sparked conversations about Mexican craftsmanship and traditions.
